Tectonic and Climatic Impacts on Environmental Evolution in East Asia During the Palaeogene

چکیده
Palaeogene environmental evolution in East Asia remains ambiguous. Here we present integrative work including magnetostratigraphy, grain-size, geochemistry, and clay mineralalogy from a 1609 m-thick fluviolacustrine sequence eastern China. The results reveal two periods of tectonic control alternating with three climatic on the sedimentary evolution. Tectonic activity study area, as revealed by particle coarsening reduced weathering, occurred during 65.6–59 Ma strengthened 55–54 response to India-Eurasia collision. Weathering gradually enhanced 59–55 Ma, probably caused global warming. Continuous warming 54–50.5 is responsible for aridification Asia. From 50.5 37.6 cooling weakened evapotranspiration increased westerlies-derived moisture. Both aspects effective moisture chemical weathering These shed light how tectonism climate change impacted Palaeogene.

in the present study, the effect of e-64 at different concentrations (0.5, 1, 5 and 10 µm) added to (1) the ivm medium on oocyte nuclear maturation and developmental competence of ovine oocytes, and (2) to the ivc medium on embryonic development of ovine embryos were investigated.
Quantifying climatic and tectonic controls on hillslopes
Hillslopes in humid regions are typically convex to concave in profi le and have a relatively thick, continuous regolith cover. Conversely, hillslopes in arid regions are typically cliff-dominated and have a relatively thin, discontinuous regolith cover. The difference between these two end-member slope forms is classically attributed to climate, but climate, tectonics, and lithology all play a...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Quantifying the Impacts of Environmental Factors on Vegetation Dynamics over Climatic and Management Gradients of Central Asia
Currently there is a lack of quantitative information regarding the driving factors of vegetation dynamics in post-Soviet Central Asia. Insufficient knowledge also exists concerning vegetation variability across sub-humid to arid climatic gradients as well as vegetation response to different land uses, from natural rangelands to intensively irrigated croplands. In this study, we analyzed the en...
